SitatI've been meaning to tell everyone that the Hockey Stick Illusion is now available in a second expanded edition. It incorporates a new appendix that tells the story of the Hockey Stick and the Milankovitch Cycle and the mysterious carbon dioxide adjustment to MBH99. This was one of the remarkable findings to be precipitated by Climategate 1.0.
And just in time for Christmas too.

The story of the Hockey Stick Illusion and the Milankovitch cycle was told here as a blog post here in 2010 (http://bishophill.squarespace.com/blog/2010/4/26/a-good-trick-to-create-a-decline.html). The appendix is a tidied up version of this.
Dette med Milankovitch-syklene er jo interresant. Dette handler om effekter som den serbiske astronomen Milankovitch beskrev, og som skyldes perturbasjoner i jordbanen som følge av gravitasjonspåvirkning fra I hovedsak Jupiter og Saturn.

Forøvrig håper jeg Montford skriver en oppfølger (eller flere!) til The Hockey Stick Illusion. Det må være mer enn nok materiale....
Det var det jeg ante meg, min jordbane er litt perturbert. ;) Hvordan har de det i Durban? :)

Det var 1000 e-poster i Climategate 1.0, 5000 e-poster i Climategate 2.0, og Cliamategate 3.0 vil kanskje gi 220.000..... allerede nå må vi begynne å klone Steve McIntyre og Andrew Montford (føre var-prinsippet!), skal vi ha noe håp om å skaffe oss noen oversikt de neste fem til ti årene... :)
